Kyle Sung, Prashant Pokhriyal, Crystal Mah.
Though our second day of Spoons definitely did not have a kill as Worldstar-worthy as that of poor Xiao from Tuesday, we once again saw three quite savage eliminations. Today, we'll be covering the unfortunate tale of our friend Crystal.
When we talked to her killer earlier today, before he/she entered the limelight as one of our Top Spooners, he/she expressed genuine concern about not being able to locate his/her target. With no idea where Crystal hung out, who her friends were, what she did, and probably who she even was, the killer was crossing fingers and was counting on natural selection to run its course. But he/she didn't have to. Because, in the killer's own words, “I tried to find her... but she found me.”
The fated encounter occurred the senior game of the Lynbrook boy's soccer team, where the team played Saratoga and where coach's favorite Nicolas Liang failed to get a red card despite talking up a storm and promising on multiple occasions to do so. All around disappointment. Our killer showed up to the game and, lo and behold, there she was! Sitting in the very front, idly gripping a spoon in one hand.
Again, we have two contradicting theories on the exact occurrences. Several report that she was allegedly told to text or chat someone something (not very specific, we know and we apologize). As she put down her spoon to pick up her phone and use both hands to type, her killer swooped in at the opening. Tip of the day: learn to text with one hand. Another theory suggests that she was feeling cold on this 70+ degree day, so she put her hand and spoon into her pocket. As soon as the spoon was nonexistent, so too became her Spoons career.
As completely unbiased journalists, we cannot pick which theory we would rather support. In the picture below, in which our killer has been cleverly censored to preserve his/her identity, Crystal can be seen holding a phone in her hand, suggesting that the phone theory may hold true. At the same time, the sticker seems to be placed right beneath her knuckles -- a prime location if her fingers were in her pockets but her hands were sticking out.
Who knows what really happened. Definitely not us. We're just here for the LOLs. Until next time!
