Tanvi Varma, Shawn Silverman.
As predicted, today was a bit of a slow day, which is expected after the bloodbath that occurred on Friday. The two reported eliminations we have are actually from Friday night, reported after the article was posted already. Because they happened at such odd hours (8:30 PM and 10:02 PM, respectively), they are both worthy stories to tell. Unfortunately, we don't have much to show in the way of photography or video footage, so you'll just have to indulge yourselves on the videos of Andy screaming and AK chasing down his target.
Last night, Tanvi's elimination was one heck of a trek. Her killer had an inside informant, who was with Tanvi at Calvary Church in Los Gatos to volunteer for a special education prom event. Upon seeing that Tanvi had come to volunteer without a spoon, the informant alerted the killer. Rushing home from the Great Mall, throwing on some semi-formal attire, and grabbing a companion, the killer drove for 30 minutes to the event. He/she sent the companion inside to scope out the area to confirm that Tanvi was vulnerable, and he/she marched in to finish the deed (and in a church, for that matter). “[Tanvi] had this look her face... like she knew she had nowhere to go and she knew she was done,” the companion reports. All we can say is that at least she perished in style.
Even later that night, after a long day of robotics, the renowned Spoons celebrity Shawn fell. Even worse? Our money was on him. As he left the robotics room and let go of his spoon to put on his earbuds before getting on his bike, his killer jumped out of the shadows. Though the kill was straightforward, Shawn had reportedly been misled and tricked throughout the day. He admits that he had very little chance of survival, given the fact that he “spent 6 hours” with his killer that day and was going to “spend 10 hours each day this weekend” with his killer. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
As promised, to make up for the lack of story content, we'll be dropping hints about the themes of upcoming Immunities in consecutive order -- today, our hint concerns Immunity #2, which is on the Tuesday we get back from break.
According to National Geographic, “Rocks are so common that most of us take them for granted. Cursing when we hit them with the garden hoe or taking advantage of them to drive in tent pegs on summer camping trips.” Imagine, for a second, that those rocks have feelings, too. That they feel pain whenever you kick them along the sidewalk. That they feel hope when you lift them up off the ground. That they feel security when they are lying among others of their own kind.
We know that most of you are so caught up in the savage desire to kill your target that there is little room within your heart for this kind of compassion. But for Immunity #2, we'll be doing everything in our power to show you that rocks are friends, not tools. Until then!
