Stephanie Wang.
Not much to report today in the way of kills, but we suppose that balances out the rather savage double kills of the past two days. The story we do have today isn't particularly action-packed, but it definitely made us gasp a little. Sometimes, it doesn't take a high speed chase or a sister wrestling a spoon out of your hand to constitute a savage kill. Sometimes, all it takes are some words and some misplaced trust.
Remember how we mentioned “ruined friendships” in our first email? Well, this one comes pretty near that. At about 11:00 PM last night, Stephanie Wang was reported killed. Allegedly, her killer was a super close friend of hers. Late at night, her killer texted her (in a rather agitated tone, we suppose) asking if she could come over to give some advice. Being the loyal and trusting friend she was, Stephanie meandered over without her spoon. Oh, did we say loyal and trusting? We meant naive. As they sat in her killer's room talking, her killer reportedly said, “This might piss you off”. And with that, he/she stuck a sticker on Stephanie.
When we spoke with Stephanie later, she expressed that “it was totally fine actually”. But deep down, we know that it really wasn't. That her words were simply a fake smile to cover her internal grief. An effort to laugh off her sense of abandonment. A mask to cover a newly formed inability to trust any of her friends now. We wish you will come to terms with your killer and perhaps one day choose the path of forgiveness, lest you allow revenge to consume the humanity you still have within yourself. Actually, come to think of it, we definitely wouldn't mind seeing you get revenge. We wouldn't mind at all.
Now, we shall look ahead to Immunity #7 and talk about penguins. Yes, the “aquatic, flightless birds living almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere, especially in Antarctica. Highly adapted for life in the water, penguins have countershaded dark and white plumage, and their wings have evolved into flippers. Most penguins feed on krill, fish, squid and other forms of sealife caught while swimming underwater. They spend about half of their lives on land and half in the oceans.”
Ok, ok fine. We confess, we copy-pasted that straight from Wikipedia. Come on now, cut us some slack. Writing these articles every day does get a little tiring after a while, and even we need to cut some corners from time to time. And pardon this little fourth-wall-breaking paragraph here. We just watched Deadpool today (which we highly recommend, but not with your parents and especially not with your grandparents).
In any case, we'll be trying to better understand the plight of these cute, waddling birds for Immunity #7. And as we all know from To Kill a Mockingbird, you have to walk in someone else's shoes for a bit to truly understand them. In this case, we'll be waddling in the shoes of the penguins. Until then!
